Speak to a Train Tour Specialist
Amtrak Vacations takes travelers to North America's spectacular cities on both escorted and independent train journeys. While on board, passengers can relax in comfortable seats and view breathtaking landscapes through panoramic windows.
A maximum of 28 guests travel on escorted rail journeys. When you're not on the train, sightseeing is done by mini-coach, which allows for easy maneuvering through winding mountain roads and busy city streets. Accommodations, sightseeing, activities and meals are all included in the price of the trip. Amtrak also offers independent rail journeys. These packages include train transportation between cities and accommodations in centrally located hotels.
On both escorted and independent trips, you may spend some nights on the train while on others you'll sleep in upscale hotels. The detailed itineraries on this site will provide more information about each night's accommodations.
Train tours are classified according to the quality of the train experience, the location and service level of hotels and restaurants and the number of included meals and activities. Amtrak tours are categorized as first class or deluxe on the industry rating scale (budget, first class and deluxe).
= Budget tours typically range from $50 to $200 per person, per day, plus airfare.|
= First Class tours typically range from $80 to $350 per person, per day, plus airfare.
= Deluxe tours typically range from $200 to $650 per person, per day, plus airfare.
